Joint pains and discomfort has been around for a while, some references to arthritis even date back to 4500 BC.

Arthritis is an inflammation that occurs at the joints and can be cause by a number of different factors. There are more than 100 different forms of arthritis; some are very mild while others cause pain on a daily basis to the person. For people over the age of 50, arthritis is one of the leading causes for mobility issues but it also affects over 15,000 children and young people alone in the UK.

Arthritis has been around since ancient times, now it may not have had that name, but it was around. Believe it or not, but some reports suggest that some dinosaurs suffered with arthritis too!

Before the 1600’s, the disease was actually rare until it started to spread during the Age of Exploration across the Atlantic. It was only in the 1800’s that the name arthritis was given to the disease.

There are many treatment options available to those dealing with arthritis. Find more information on Arthritis Treatments.
