Disabled Shower Seat
Time to take the weight off your feet with a disabled shower seat (that rhymes – but we couldn’t resist!).
Seriously though, you love the feel of a shower when you get up or you like to wash away the cares at the end of the day, but you struggle to stand for long periods of time.
Perhaps you’re just a little unsteady on your feet and you would like the peace of mind that a shower seat offers.
- Choose from wooden or padded shower seats.
- All seats are secure and foldable so can be just lifted out of the way.
- Position grab bars to help you raise and lower yourself in the shower.
Seats come as standard with all of our showers.
All our bathroom shower designs come with the option of a shower seat, including with our walk-in shower cubicles and wet rooms. The seats are foldable, so if there are days you would prefer to stand then you can do. Or if there are other members of your household who don’t need to use it they can fold it away.
When choosing your new shower we always fit grab bars which can be fitted next to the disabled shower seat so you can lower yourself onto it. This extra safety feature allows for further peace of mind and a little more independence in the home.
And the seat is fitted with rubber grips on the legs and securely fixed onto the wall to keep it in place. You can be confident it won’t slip while you’re using it and the finish means it’s both practical and stylish.
If you’re a wheelchair user then one of our most accessible shower designs – The Imperial – includes a chair for you to sit on.
The beauty of this option is that the chair can be taken right up to the shower opening to allow an easier transfer from chair to shower seat. And half-height glass panels around the shower means an assistant can help you wash. You can just sit, relax and enjoy the experience.
Our showers are fitted with an easy-glide riser so when you sit down you can still reach the shower head and nozzle to switch it on. We added this feature because we want to meet all your needs and make it as easy as possible for you to enjoy the showering experience.
In terms of finishes, you could go for an attractive modern wooden seat. Or there is a padded option which is a chair with a comfortable back on it in the same material.
Whichever one you go for we can show you that shower seats for the disabled don’t have to ruin the look and feel of your new bathroom – they stylishly fit in.
