The Imperial
The Imperial has been designed especially for assisted showering. It features a clever and simple shower curtain with double doors at the front corner, thus maximising access so a wheelchair can be taken right up to the shower opening. As our picture shows, it is very easy for a helper to assist with something as simple, yet as vital, as washing someone’s hair.

FAQ
What is The Imperial walk-in shower?
The Imperial is an assisted showering model from Bathing Solutions with double doors at the front corner and a bespoke range of half height doors. It comes in square, rectangular and alcove sizes on a slip resistant, anti bacterial tray with a 40mm lip.
What are the half height doors on The Imperial for?
The Imperial offers a bespoke range of half height doors to allow assisted bathing. They come up to roughly waist level, so a carer can reach in to help without leaning over a full height panel and without standing inside the shower getting soaked.
Can a wheelchair reach The Imperial?
Bathing Solutions states The Imperial has double doors at the front corner, maximising access so a wheelchair can be taken right up to the shower opening. Wheelchair access is noted on the larger versions, so the size you choose matters. Check this at the home survey.
What sizes does The Imperial come in?
Three configurations. Square runs 900mm to 1200mm in both directions. Rectangular runs 1200mm to 1800mm long by 700mm or 820mm wide. Alcove runs 1400mm to 1800mm long by 700mm or 820mm wide. The larger sizes are the ones associated with wheelchair access.
How does The Imperial differ from The Baroness?
Both are designed for assisted showering. The Imperial uses double doors at the front corner plus optional half height doors, which suits a carer helping from outside. The Baroness uses split folding panels that swing back through 180 degrees to open the whole front of the enclosure.
How high is the step into The Imperial?
The Imperial sits on a slip resistant, anti bacterial low level shower tray with a 40mm lip. That is a small step rather than a flat threshold. If you need a completely level entry with no lip at all, the Aquarius Wet Room is the alternative.
Is the shower temperature controlled on The Imperial?
Yes. The Imperial comes with a thermostatically controlled mixer shower, which holds the temperature you set. That matters during assisted showering, when the person bathing may not be able to move away quickly if the water suddenly runs hot or cold.
Does Bathing Solutions remove my old bathroom?
Yes. Removal of the old bathroom is included when The Imperial is fitted, along with all plumbing, certified electricians where required, and fitting of wall and floor coverings where needed. Most installations take three to five days depending on how much work is involved.
What warranty comes with The Imperial?
The Imperial is covered by the Bathing Solutions product warranty of up to 15 years. Cover varies depending on the item, with different lengths applying across the shower tray, enclosure, screen, grab rails, seat and thermostatic mixer shower. Some parts, such as seals and rollers, are excluded, and labour is covered separately. Your installer will confirm exactly what applies to the products in your quote.
