The Baroness
The Baroness is one of our most stylish and versatile easy-access showers thanks to its unique multi-fold glass doors. These can be fitted either as full height panels or as individual half-height sections that can then be joined together or opened independently to facilitate assisted bathing by a spouse or carer. So the bather can sit or stand comfortably in the shower while a helper can lean over the closed lower pair of doors to assist them.
The Baroness
- Unique split-folding doors open fully for wheelchair access or carer assistance.
- Slip-resistant, anti-bacterial low-level shower tray – just a 40mm lip (1 1/2”).
- Thermostatically controlled mixer shower to ensure a safe water temperature.
The stylish, clever and practical solution to assisted bathing
Getting into and out of this walk-in shower with doors is also simple and trouble-free. The panels and doors fold back through 180 degrees so they can be folded against a wall to create an extra-large entry point for wheelchair access. Plus our ultra-low, slip-resistant shower tray means the wheelchair can be taken right up to the shower itself, making it as easy as possible for less able-bodied members of the family. We are also specialists with installing walk-in baths and wet rooms for your space, so learn more about these if this is your bathing preference.

FAQ
What is The Baroness walk-in shower?
The Baroness is a walk-in shower from Bathing Solutions built around split folding doors that open back through 180 degrees. It comes in square, rectangular and alcove versions, and sits on a slip resistant, anti bacterial low level tray with a 40mm lip.
Is The Baroness suitable for wheelchair users?
Yes. The panels and doors on The Baroness fold back through 180 degrees to create an extra-large entry point for wheelchair access, and that a wheelchair can be taken right up to the shower itself. Confirm the layout works in your bathroom at survey.
How do the split folding doors on The Baroness work?
The panels and doors fold back through 180 degrees, flat against the enclosure, leaving the front of the shower almost completely open rather than a narrow gap. You can close them fully when showering, so it still works as a normal enclosure when you do not need the extra width.
What sizes does The Baroness come in?
Three configurations. Square runs 800mm to 1200mm in both directions. Rectangular runs 1200mm to 1800mm long by 700mm or 820mm wide. Alcove runs 1400mm to 1800mm long by 700mm or 820mm wide. A surveyor measures your bathroom before anything is manufactured.
Can a carer help someone using The Baroness?
Yes, and that is one of the reasons for the folding door design. The doors open fully for wheelchair access or carer assistance. With the panels folded back, a carer can stand at the opening and help without reaching around a fixed screen.
How high is the step into The Baroness?
The Baroness has a low level shower tray with just a 40mm lip, around one and a half inches, and the tray is slip resistant and anti bacterial. It is a low step rather than a completely flat entry, so for true level access consider the Aquarius Wet Room.
Is the glass in The Baroness safe?
Yes. The Baroness comes with tempered safety glass as standard, and the enclosure also carries clear screen protection to help keep it clean. Tempered glass is designed to break into small blunt pieces rather than sharp shards if it is ever damaged.
Does The Baroness have a drying area?
Yes. The Baroness includes a drying area inside the enclosure, so you can towel off before stepping out onto the bathroom floor. Combined with the slip resistant tray, it reduces how much water ends up underfoot when you leave the shower.
What is included when Bathing Solutions fits The Baroness?
The Baroness is supplied fully fitted. The price covers free design and quotation, a pre fit technical survey, full installation, all plumbing, certified electricians where required, wall and floor coverings where needed, removal of your old bathroom, and a product warranty of up to 15 years.
