What is The Independence walk-in bath?

The Independence is a full length walk-in bath from Bathing Solutions fitted with a powered seat as standard. It measures 1690mm long by 690mm wide, with a 370mm door available left or right hand, and comes with thermostatically controlled taps.

What weight can the powered seat on The Independence take?

The powered seat on The Independence is for users up to 20 stones, which is 127kg. If the person using the bath is close to that figure, raise it with the surveyor before ordering so the right model is specified.

What happens to The Independence in a power cut?

The Independence has automatic battery back up in the event of mains power failure. That means the powered seat can still raise you out of the bath if the electricity goes off while you are bathing, which is the main safety concern with a powered bath seat.

Are the taps on The Independence thermostatic?

Yes. The Independence comes with thermostatically controlled taps as standard. They hold the water at the temperature you set, which reduces the risk of scalding. Thermostatic components carry a three year product warranty, while the bath itself is covered for up to 15 years.

Can I shower with The Independence?

A shower canopy is available as an option on The Independence. It is optional rather than standard, so it needs to be specified at the design stage. If a bath and shower combination is your priority, also compare The Royale, which is built around that.

Is The Independence available in different colours?

Yes. The Independence is available in a colour coordinated version as well as the standard finish. The options are shown during the free design and quotation visit, alongside the wall and floor coverings, so the bath can be matched to the rest of the bathroom.

Does The Independence have spa therapy?

Spa therapy is available as an option on The Independence rather than being fitted as standard. Where it needs a power supply, Bathing Solutions includes fully certified electricians as part of the fitted service, and states its electrical work complies with Part P regulations.

How wide is the door on The Independence?

The door on The Independence is 370mm wide and is available as left or right hand. Because the bath uses a powered seat, you sit and are lowered rather than having to climb down yourself. The door side is agreed at the home survey.

What warranty covers the powered seat on The Independence?

The bath itself is covered for up to 15 years under the Bathing Solutions product warranty. Latch and power bath motors and walk-in bath seals are listed at three years. Labour is covered for 24 months, after which callout work is quoted separately.
